Born Owen Kumatso (born 1993) better known by his stage names, G-NEWO,
The ancient stone, The SUG Masta and Owen is a Malawian Hip Hop artist who resides in Lilongwe.
A poet and a writer by the age of 14,
Owen’s musical career is more than a life choice and is simply a choice to live.
Fueled by his passion to create feeling through wordplay,
it is no surprise that Owen slowly grew from a young writer and poet to a hip hop artist called G-NEWO.
G-NEWO is a mainstay name in the streets and has worked with numerous artists
such as Illmoor the Oracle, Muzli, Teddy, Peopls Emcee, Informatics, Eminent One, L-Planet
Tsa Leo, Eye Poetic, Plan B, Liberation just to mention a few.
In 2014 G-NEWO graced the stage with mic skills at Lilongwe Golf Club
NEWO is a founder of the Souls of Underground Clan, alongside rappers like
late Captain Illmoor the Oracle, Damanozee, Muzli, Venom, Vocal Ice,
Peoples Emcee, Paranormal and Kylon Fresh.
The founder started his career in 2010 with his debut single, "Good time to leave" this song was produced by a Japanees guy called Copine wu.
In 2011, he released four singles, "Designed to kill", "Land of the unforgotten", "Atmospheric souls" and "Panegyric".
His anticipated debut album, "Magazi Poganiza" , was released in October 2020. All beats were produced by one and only "Venom".
